Magda was born in Poland and her first experience with the United States came after the fall of the Berlin Wall. “The fall of the Berlin Wall changed the political system in Poland drastically and opened the borders, so I decided to participate in a language program with American teachers who traveled to Poland. After the program ended I maintained a close friendship with some teachers which led to me spending my first summer in the United States in 2000.”

While attending college, Magda participated in exchange programs by working at the YMCA of the Rockies in the Rocky Mountain National Park and performed a two year International Leadership Trainee Program in Colorado after graduation in Poland. She used this time as an opportunity to travel through the mountain regions of the United States. Magda likes being close to nature and outdoor activities including: biking, kayaking and mountain hiking as well as snow shoeing and cross-country skiing.

“I love the rugged beauty of the American West. This was a very special time in my life.”

After leaving Colorado, Magda attended SUNY at Buffalo, earning her second Master’s Degree. In 2006, toward the end of her time at the university, she learned about opportunities at Arbor Capital Management. She applied for an intern position and was hired. One year later she was offered a full-time position with Arbor Capital and the rest is history. ~Magdalena Jaworska
